We’re so glad you’re here! Whether your student is a seasoned performer or brand new to the stage, we’re thrilled to welcome them—and your family—into the growing Northwest High School theater community.
After a six-year hiatus, the NWHS Drama Club returned to the stage in 2024 with Icebergs, an original play written by former NWHS drama director Carey Collins. That production was a meaningful success and an important learning experience for our entire team. It all began when a group of passionate 2024 and 2025 NWHS grads—including Miss Abigail Warner—advocated for a revived drama club.
Miss Emily Lawrie is the NWHS Drama Club sponsor and play director. She brings a background in high school theater, a bachelor's degree in film production, and extensive experience running large-scale theater, film, and educational arts events. Her passion lies in helping students express themselves, gain confidence, and develop meaningful life and career skills through storytelling and performance.
While NWHS musicals are run by the talented Mr. Matthew Snell and the Community Players, our drama club focuses on straight plays, improv, and original works. Looking ahead to the 2025–2026 season, we plan to expand our offerings with one-act plays, monologues, and additional performance opportunities for students to shine.
