About the Drama Club
Welcome to NWHS Drama, where community takes center stage!
We are a passionate group of students dedicated to exploring the art of theater, creating a safe environment to explore in, and supporting each other's growth.
Our Mission
At NWHS Drama, we aim to foster a love for the performing arts while building confidence, teamwork, and creativity. We believe in the power of storytelling and Improv to inspire, entertain, and connect people.
What We Do
Productions: We currently produce one play a year during the late fall.
Club Meetings: Learn acting techniques, improv, general theater knowledge and more in our interactive weekly meetings.
Trips: We are planning field trips to see local theater! So far we've attended The Sauk's productions of Anastasia! and My Fair Lady. For more information about this click the 'Field Trip' Link at the top of the page!
Community: We’re more than a club—we’re a family that celebrates and supports each other.
Why Join Us?
Whether you’re a seasoned student performer or just curious about the stage and creativity that comes with it, there’s a place for every student in the NWHS Drama Club. No experience? No problem! We’ll help you discover your unique talents and grow your skills in a fun and welcoming environment.
There's more to theater than acting!
Although we don't see these rolls often, there's so much more to theater than acting and directing! We encourage students to help out where they feel their talents are or in an area they are interested in! During the play season we need students to help with every aspect of production:
Stage Management – overseeing rehearsals, keeping everything organized, calling cues during the show.
Lighting Design/Operation – creating the lighting plan and operating the light board during the performance.
Sound Design/Operation – managing sound effects, microphones, and music cues.
Set Design/Construction – designing and building the physical stage environment.
Costume Design – creating, selecting, or altering costumes to match the director’s vision.
Hair and Makeup – styling actors' looks for the stage.
Run Crew – moving set pieces and props during scene changes.
Props Management – sourcing, creating, and organizing stage props.
Publicity/Marketing – designing posters, programs, and social media content.
House Management – overseeing the audience experience (ushers, ticketing, etc.).
Box Office – managing ticket sales and reservations.
Photography/Videography – documenting the show for promotion or archives.
